Planning a wall-hung toilet: a checklist for builders and renovators

VISTA Wall-Hung Toilet

A wall-hung toilet gives a bathroom a clean, floating look and leaves the floor clear for easy cleaning. It's made up of three parts that work together, so it pays to plan them as a set.

What you need

  • A wall-hung toilet frame that sits inside the wall and supports the toilet.
  • A concealed in-wall cistern, such as our dual flush 4/6L cistern, which sits behind the finished wall.
  • A wall-hung pan, like our VISTA washdown toilet.

Checklist before the wall is closed up

  1. Confirm compatibility. Check that the frame, cistern and pan suit each other before you order. If you're unsure, contact us first.
  2. Check the wall. Make sure the wall cavity and framing suit the frame's dimensions and fixing points.
  3. Plan the plumbing. Confirm the water supply and waste positions with your plumber before framing.
  4. Plan access for maintenance. Check the cistern's installation instructions for how it's accessed once the wall is finished.
  5. Use a licensed plumber. In Australia, plumbing work like this must be done by a licensed plumber, in line with Australian Standards and the manufacturer's instructions.
  6. Check your delivery. Inspect everything when it arrives and tell us within 48 hours if anything is damaged or incorrect.
